Oddly enough this is the song where we did a full on replacement of keyboard with viola (due to breaking keyboard by accident two days prior to gig). We hadn’t even rehearsed this version. But it all worked out ok.
Thanks to everyone that came out last night to see us at Arlene’s Grocery. We gave away some t-shirts and stuck around for rock and roll karaoke afterwards, to hear what you had for us. Loads of people may have been out of town, but we still got a great turn out and a fun night. Also turns out the gig overall was one of the “5 Best Things in NYC to do that night” according to CBS New York at http://newyork.cbslocal.com/
Anyway, cheers to Eleanor and everyone at Arlene’s. A few videos were sent to us and we’ve put them on YouTube for now. One of them appears at the top of this post. As for the set list, it went like this:
MI6
Bullet Time
Bad Friday
The Thrill
Supercooler
Wait Again (video above)
Somethings Happening
Effectual
LA Dreaming
Photographs
So that’s ten songs this time and our last gig of 2012.
Thanks to all those who came out on a damp Monday night to see us at Pianos. I know I would have struggled to be out on a Monday night like last night, with day job making me pay the price this morning, so we do appreciate the support. Anyway, more pictures and videos to come soon.
Set list for the show at Pianos on Monday, December 10th was as follows:
Supercooler
Bullet Time
The Thrill
Wait Again
Something Happening (video below)
Mi6
LA Dreaming
Photographs
Been a busy couple weeks, but here’s another clip from the last show (Photographs). Not sure if the static is from putting an iPhone clip on a PC, but that’s another story.
More to come soon including a handful of new tracks and shows in NY and elsewhere in the coming months.
About The Band
Stereo Off is a 3 piece band based in New York. With influences ranging from electronic bands and rock influences from classic rock to 90’s indie bands on both sides of the Atlantic, Stereo Off has played various shows in and around NY in the past couple of years including venues such as the Knitting Factory, Bowery Electric and (the late) Glasslands, along with CMJ Festival and more. In 2014, they released "New York", their debut 5 song EP, and have also appeared in music soundtracks for various short films in 2014/2015, some of which have appeared in film festivals around the US. A second EP came out in August 2015 "The Long Hot Winter" and after some lineup changes and going from a 5 piece to 3 a third one is now completed and to be released in Feb 2017, followed by a full length LP.
