Put Us On Your Mixtape

Helloooooooooooo everyone. Just a quick update on Stereo Off coverage in-between the two film festivals we are doing. Seeing songs get on various mix tapes around the web. Hopefully they’ll have room for more when our new EP (recording in progress) is out.

Much thanks to:
http://neatbeet.com/beet-box-radio-episode-6/ – Great mix overall too, all on one 60 minute mega track that you can download.

Coney Island Film Festival 2014

Had a great time at Coney Island Film Festival 2014 on Saturday, we got to see our band’s video, Bullet Time on the big screen!

It was well received by a full house at a sold out session (we were in one of the only two sold out sessions – out of sixteen sessions overall). The competition was tough and there were some much higher budget films there and a music video that did the old triple ending trick to garner applause, but hey, ya gotta pull out all the stops right?

Anyway, cheers to Dead Red Eyes for a great video (we are also in the NY Indie Film Fest, Thurs 16th October 2014!) and we look forward to getting another video together in the coming weeks. Loads of EP finalising between now and then as we aim to get the 2nd EP finalised soon (songs confirmed, just need some final cuts) in time for CMJ Music Marathon in late October.

August mentions, reviews and video coverage

Thanks to Brooklyn based Impose Magazine for the mention on this Week in Pop – scroll down, and you’ll see a mention and the Bullet Time video by us.

“It’s an amalgam of everything pertaining to ‘what New York used to be’ but with a DFA soul that sympathizes with the indie dance revolutions of the oughts”.

Speaking of film, we’re in this years NYC independent film festival – https://www.nycindiefilmfest.com/film/bullet-time

And thanks to the mention from UK based “Fame Magazine” on http://www.famemagazine.co.uk/2014/08/06/fame-presents-stereo-off/

Interview with 24 Our Music

Check out the interview we did with 24ourMusic – http://24ourmusic.net/2014/07/07/stereo-moment-inspiration/ – we talk about a bit of history, a bit of influence, the EP itself and a bit of advice.

Or as they put it – “What started out as a single effort rapidly progressed into a five-piece band with members comparable to five-star chefs doing fusion cuisine, each bringing something of value to the table. The result: a multi-hyphenated musical genre comprised of pop, electro, indie, post punk to name only a few.

Which made me very hungry.

Jokes and dinners aside, its a great piece and thanks to Patricia and the crew at 24OurMusic once more. And… if you missed the review from a month prior – here you go!

Updates and more EP reviews

Got a couple of great EP reviews recently, both from sites based just a quick drive up route 87 (ok maybe not that quick, and that’s another story) in Canada!

One from Replicant Ears – EP Review – http://replicantears.com/2014/06/23/album-review-stereo-off-stereo-off-ny-ep5/ that harkens the EP back to a mix of music from past decades and stating “This EP is definitely worth picking up, I’ve had it on repeat for days.” Thanks to Ryan and the team there at Replicant.

And then last week from 24OurMusic – “Stereo Off: Those Sexy Devils” – the title says enough surely…. And with a 9.8 out of 10 on the review also! – http://24ourmusic.net/2014/06/18/stereo-off/, much thanks to Patricia and everyone else over there.

It had me wondering, do we have that song that everyone mentions has their favourite? Or has it been an even split? So I looked at our review list and other mentions. And as of Late June 2014, due to reviews so far this year, the votes for favourite song per review went like this (note some reviews didn’t single one out, thus aren’t part of that count).

Photographs – 3
Bullet Time – 3
Effectual – 3
The Thrill – 3
MI6 – 3

Well, so much for seeing if reviews and feedback would help identify our top song from the EP. On a positive note, surely that means they are all keepers!
